Addameer Association
Addameer Association - Palestine

Addameer Association is a non-profit prisoner support group and human rights organization founded in 1991. Addameer, which means “conscience” in Arabic, works to support Palestinian political prisoners held in both Israeli and Palestinian prisons. Led by a group of activists dedicated in human rights, the organization provides free legal aid to political prisoners. They also advocate for prisoner rights at the national and international level through initiatives to end torture and other violations of human rights. Through monitoring, legal procedures, and solidarity campaigns, the group works toward a free and democratic Palestinian society based on justice and equality. Addameer Association, along with five others, was declared a “terrorist organization” by Israeli leadership. Read more on the Promised Land Museum blog.
