Alice Rothchild

Alice Rothchild is a retired obstetrician-gynecologist who has been focused on understanding the Israeli/Palestinian conflict since 1997. She directed a documentary film, Voices Across the Divide, and writes essays and poetry about the conflict.

In a 2021 article for Counterpunch titled “The Nakba Continues”, Rothchild expressed her grief and outrage at the “predictable escalations” of violence in Israel/Palestine, in particular the way it is represented in what she calls the pattern of “both-sides-have-their-reasons-but-Israel-is-the-victim.”
