Ada Colau Ballano is a Spanish activist and politician who assumed office as Mayor of Barcelona in 2015. Barcelona had been twinned with Tel Aviv and Gaza for 25 years until Ada Colau announced that the city would suspend its relationship until Israel ended the “systematic violation of the people of Palestine’s human rights.”
