Dr. Steven Feldman, an American Jewish dermatologist and curator of the Promised Land Museum, has traveled extensively through Israel. He went to Palestine, to the West Bank, on a two-week service and educational experience with a Quaker group. His experience was published by the Winston-Salem Journal in an article titled “On the ground with Israelis and Palestinians.” In this interview, Feldman tells the story of how he became an advocate for the rights of all people in Israel-Palestine. Feldman met with Palestinian families, teachers, administrators, adults and children, legislators, and people on the street. He expected to find good people, just like everywhere else, but was surprised to find in Ramallah and other parts of Palestine the nicest people he has ever met anywhere.
