Human Rights Watch, a nonprofit organization that reports on human rights abuses around the world, published a report in 2019 concerning the violence in Israel and Palestine during 2018. The report describes Israel’s use of excessive lethal force against Palestinian demonstrators in Gaza, killing hundreds including 31 children, and wounding more than 5,800 with live ammunition. Meanwhile, Israel destroyed hundreds more of Palestinian homes and properties, forcibly displacing more than four hundred people. The report also contextualizes this violence with concurrent international policies and trends.
