Jeff Halper is an outspoke Israeli-Jew the co-founder of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) and author of the book Decolonizing Israel, Liberating Palestine: Zionism, Settler Colonialism, and the Case for One Democratic State (2021). British journalist Mark Seddon, media adviser in the Office of the President of the United Nations General Assembly, interviewed Halper about the book and Halper’s thoughts on Israel/Palestine.

In an article for Mondoweiss, “The ‘One Democratic State Campaign’ program for a multicultural democratic state in Palestine/Israel“, he shared a program based in Jewish values for solving the Israel-Palestine conflict by creating a multicultural democratic state. Halper’s detailed plan for resolving Israel/Palestine issues takes a truly Jewish perspective. He goes into greater detail in another article, “The Difficult Passage from a Two-State ‘Solution’ to Decolonisation in Palestine/Israel.”

ICAHD is a non-violent Israeli direct-action organization established in 1997 to end Israel’s Occupation over the Palestinians. A grassroots organization, ICAHD has focused on the “big political picture” even while engaging in protest, resistance, and informational activities “on the ground.” It seeks — together with Palestinians, Israeli and international partners — to formulate and achieve a genuinely just political settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian “conflict,” one that revolves around the creation of a single democratic state over the entire country.

Halper joined Palestinian Awad Abdelfattah to write in support of a one-state solution in this article published in the Electronic Intifada. Abdelfattah is a political writer and the former general secretary of the Arab Israeli Balad political party. Read more about Abdelfattah in this interview with the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions.

Halper has also written for The Nation. His book is available on Amazon.com.
