Joe Roberts

Joe Roberts is a veteran political strategist and columnist in both the U.S. and Canada. He is the Executive Director of the Centre for Canadian Progress, the co-host of the political podcast New Left Radio, and the Managing Director at Jewish Currents Magazine. In 2021, Roberts wrote about leaving the Jewish Federation movement in protest of Israel’s violence toward Palestinians and seeking “t’shuvah [repentance] not only for ourselves but for the entirety of the Jewish people… It’s time to admit the sins done against the Palestinian people and begin the long path of repentance.”

Roberts was also a former Jewish Federation CEO, recognizing and owning his complicity in the injustices perpetrated against Palestinians, says he opposes Israel’s actions against Palestinians.
