This historic map, detailing the buildings and structures of the once-vibrant village of Qaqun, has been preserved for decades and now resides in Palestine Remembered archive. Located in the West Bank, Qaqun people settled the area as early as the 8th century BCE and maintained a mostly Palestinian population until the mid-1900s when Jewish settlers arrived, depopulated, and demolished the village and surrounding areas. With the village’s name printed boldly at the top, the map appears to show both major roads and demarcates buildings with names of business and organizations individually labeled. This document appears to be restored and assembled from fragmented pages and serves as an essential artifact of Palestinian history.
