Mark Braverman, Kairos USA
Mark Braverman

Mark Braverman is the program director for Kairos USA, a Christian group dedicated to taking a “bold, prophetic stand against the unjust policies that oppress Palestinians.”

Mark Braverman is a Jewish American with family roots in the Holy Land. Raised in the Jewish tradition with strong ties to both Rabbinical and Zionist Judaism, Mark Braverman radically changed his perspective on “what it means to be Jewish today” after meeting with Palestinian people and Jewish Israeli peace activists.

Mark has lectured in the United States and internationally on Kairos theology, Christian Zionism, post-holocaust theology, and Christian-Jewish relations. He is the author of two books: Fatal Embrace: Christians, Jews, and the Search for Peace in the Holy Land (foreword by Walter Brueggemann) and A Wall in Jerusalem: Hope, Healing, and the Struggle for Peace in Israel and Palestine.

In the confessional documentary, Jews Step Forward, Mark Braverman states, “the role of occupier is leading Israel down a road of political disaster, and the Jewish people down a road of spiritual peril…..the greatest crisis in Jewish history since the Babylonian exile…Our task is to rescue Judaism from an ideology that has hijacked the faith, continues to fuel global conflict, and has produced one of the most systematic and longstanding violations of human rights in the world today…..I am a proud Jew. I love Israel. And I am heartsick about her.”
