Ottawa Forum on Israel/Palestine (OFIP)

The Ottawa Forum on Israel/Palestine (OFIP) encourages the development of a Canadian foreign policy in the Middle East based on values of democracy, equality, justice and respect for international law. OFIP recognizes that many have views about the Middle East that may or may not be based on a good understanding of the issues. OFIP promotes balanced foreign policy through calm and respectful conversation based on fundamental principles of equality and dignity.

OFIP offers free access to some tremendous resources including memories of the Nakba and other interviews. On November 23, 2020, OFIP hosted a webinar with Dr. Rashid Khalidi discussing his book “The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine.” Dr. Khalidi is the Edward Said Chair of Modern Arab Studies at Columbia University in New York. He was born in New York in 1948 just after his father was forced out of Palestine. He has a D.Phil from Oxford University and is the co-editor of the Journal of Palestine Studies.
