Ronnie Kasrils
Ronnie Kasrils

Ronnie Kasrils, a politician and former Minister of Intelligence Services in South Africa, recently wrote a piece on PolticsWeb.co responding criticism about his stance on Palestinian resistance. In his message to Greg Mills, Ronnie opposes racism, military occupation, and the senseless killing of Palestinian people. He advocates for one unified, democratic state as a solution for the Israel-Palestine conflict, similar to the strategy that brough an end of apartheid in South Africa.

He reminds readers that Palestinian peoples fight for justice is against the colonizing force of Zionism, not Jewish people. Ronnie questions Israel’s use of the term “self-defense” and oppression of the Palestinian community through land seizures, settlement expansion, and expulsion from homelands. He also condemns the mass surveillance, webs of arbitrary checkpoints, and illegal detention that impact Palestinian people’s daily lives. Ronnie closes by calling for an end to the massacre of innocent Palestinian families as well as an end to anti-Semitism.
