The Defence for Children – Palestine

The Defense for Children – Palestine (DCIP) is an organization that “defend children’s rights by offering free legal aid, documenting violations of international law, and advocating for greater protections.” The DCIP was founded in 1991 as an independent, local branch of the international group the Defense of Children, which was founded in 1976. As the “the only Palestinian human rights organization specifically focused on child rights,” the DCIP is “committed to securing a just and viable future for Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.” Despite being part of an internationally recognized organization, DCIP, along with five others, was declared a “terrorist organization” by Israeli leadership.
